2 minutes observance of silence on January 30 for Martyrs Day every year: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs today issued instructions that from now on every year on January 30, two minutes of silence will be observed at 1100 hrs throughout the country in the memory of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country in the freedom struggle.
As per this instructions, silence should be observed at work and all movement must be stopped throughout the country during the two minutes.
The silence period will be indicated by the sounds of ‘sirens or Army guns’ from 1059 hrs to 1100 hrs and after two minutes, the sirens will sound again from 1102 hrs till 1103 hrs.
