Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba directed the Department of Agriculture to develop a comprehensive action plan to make barren land in the state cultivable and also develop a monitoring and verification system for this process. He further directed during the meeting of the State Level Sanctioning Committee held today in Ranchi that alternative crops to be grown in such areas be identified.

The department of Agriculture has been directed to identify suitable locations for food storage to address the shortage of food supply in remote locations.

The State Level Sanctioning Committee will implement and monitor the schemes passed by the Krishi Vikas Yojana of the Central Government.
