Bring fertility rate down,opines Health Minister

IMG_0344Jharkhand Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi has opined that the rate of fertility has to be brought down from 2.7 percent to 2.1 percent.

“This is possible only when all worked in league with each other to attain the goal”,he said.”All State Government Health Department officers,Sahia,ANM sisters should go from village to village and popularise the issue.”

Chandrawanshi was addressing the Family Health Care Fair week organised by the National Rural Health Mission on the occasion of the World Population Day today at the state hospital,Doranda,Ranchi.

On this occasion,Jharkhand Health Department Principal Secretary K.Vidyasagar said,special attention has to be paid to family planning programme.”And to minimize the rate of fertility,a lot of work has to be performed”,he said and sought to identify those districts where the reproduction rate was high.

Vidyasagr said that family planning programme should be linked with Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram of the National Health Mission so that the youths can be informed about it.He also pointed out that 104 Dial system and Mamta Vahan Call Centre should provide information connected with family planning programme,

The programme was addressed among others by Director(Health) Dr Sumant Mishra,Dr Pushpa Maria Beg,Deputy Director and (Health Services)Dr MN Lal..
