A BSF jawan identified as Krishna Kumar Dubey from Jharkhand has been killed by Pakistani troops in a firing at a forward border post in North Kashmir.

Dubey lost his life when Pakistani snipers fired at a post located in Nowgam area of Baramulla.

Director General of BSF D. K. Pathak confirmed the incident but did not divulge further information. Officials, however, said BSF personnel retaliated in which some casualties were reported on the other side of the Line of Control.

Tension has been brewing in this region ever since Pakistani troops resorted to firing killing a BSF jawan on July five. Indian and Pakistani troops have been exchanging fire since that day.
