The Jharkhand Petroleum Diesel Association has called for a state-wide strike on July 9 in protest against the rise in prices.

Reportedly president of the association Ashok Singh said that the State Government has forced them to pay an additional 4 per cent VAT on petroleum product making it 22 per cent instead of 18 per cent.

In the neighbouring states petrol and diesel are available at cheaper prices and as a result, they have already suffered a huge loss.
