Check power theft,work to supply electricity 24X7,CS directs officials

DSC_1556Giving prominence to the power sector,newly appointed Chief Secretary Raj Bala Verma today held a meeting with Energy Department officials and directed them to work effectiuvely and attentively to improve power availability,revenue collection,condition of transformer,power grid,power sub station and implement power projects in a time frame in Jharkhand.

The CS directed them to create district level profile of the HT Connection and also carry out a drive to inspect them.She said:”Inquire which Industry has how many power machines,how much of production was recorded and in the light of these facts,prepare profile so that the loss can be minimised”,said the CS.

She said,in those villages where electricity supply was started,availability of electricity must be ensured so that these villages can be electrified.”Wherever electricity was required for water,the mapping must be done and keep the transformer ready for these villages”,she directed.

The CS directed them to identify those Electric Feeders where loss of power was taking place.”What is important is not how many transformers were purchased,but important is how many houses of the poor people were getting power”,she said.

“Also see how much revenue was coming to the state,how much payment was being made and how much of loss was recorded”,she said.

More,the CS directed them to update SOR for power production and supply for development of infrastrructure and directed these officials to keep in mind minutely the ability of the companies who had filed tenders.”This was necessary because most companies obtain the work after filling the tenders,but fail to implement it, and as a result,the cost of the project goes up.Therefore,give clearance to the tender only after condductine a detail and proper study”,she said.

In addition,she directed them to do resource mapping to provide uninteruptted supply of power so that due to shortage of fund,no scheme remained half complete,she said adding that since the government plans to implement projects to provide power to all 24X7 by 2019,it is necessary that the project was implemented in a time frame and the implementation was carried in a transparent manner.

The meeting was attended among others by the Energy Department senior officials including Principal Secretary SKG Rahte and Rahul Purwar
