CM launches Food Security Act;51 lakh families to get grains at Re 1 per kg

With Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das launching the Food Security Act today,the State’s nearly 80 percent population is likely to benefit from it and get subsidised food grains.
The Act,lying ineffective since it was launched by the Centre in 2013, is expected to make nearly 51 lakh families get food grains at Re 1 per kg.
The Act was launched by Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das in presence of senior officers and Civil Supplies Minister Saryu Rai at Administrative Training Institute in Ranchi today.
Das said,the implementation of the Act is going to serve the poorest of the poor people for whom the state government was working with a declared aim.
Similarly,Rai said that as much as 35 lakh families were covered under Public Distribution System (PDS).”In fact, not less than 51 lakh families will benefit from it.”
“The act will be fully implemented in next two months in the state,” he added.
He said a process to end duplicity in ration cards was underway.
