Cops to guard women at Durga Puja pandals in Ranchi

These were the measures adopted by the police to maintain law and order during the Durga Puja festival in Ranchi,capital of Jharkhand.

During the last three days of the festival,thousands of people walk around the Durga puja pandals.There were many complaints of eve teasing and pick pocketing.To contain these crimes,the organisers and activists put up sound boxes and made people remain alert visitors.This is past.

Now,to contain crime on the last three days of the Durga Puja on October 19,20 and 21,the police have adopted a number of measures.For instance,they have decided to put up CCTVs around the Pandals and deploy cops in civil dress.

In addition,the Crime Investigation Department(CID) has made available a Tall free number-100.”Especially in case of women security,it is mandatory for women to be aware about this number so that they can quickly get in touch with us and help us nab the culprit”,said CID IG Sampat Meena.

The CID has also introduced a helpline for women.The mobile number is 09771432103 for any assistance during the Durga Puja.
