The Vishwa Hindu Parisad (VHP) today criticised the Jharkhand government for not taking action against cow slaughter and demanded ban on beef in the state.

Head of the State VHP Pramod Mishra reportedly said, “We demand ban on beef in the state. When cow slaughter was banned in 2005, present Chief Minister Raghubar Das was a Minister. Now, Das is not taking any step to implement the law.”

Mishra said, “We will write a letter to the President, the Prime Minister, the Governor and others to direct the state government to strictly follow the law against cow slaughter.”
