Driving training and research centre to be set up in Jamshedpur

underage-drivingThe Jharkhand government and Tata Motors have signed an MoU to set up an institute of driving training and research centre at Jamshedpur.

The institute will be set up near Kasidih in the steel city under the 12th five-year plan, an official release said in Jamshedpur.

The Union Road,Transport & Highways Ministry would give Rs 17 crore for the construction of infrastructure, it added.

The target of the institute would be to train 3000 hands in light motor, light and heavy vehicles every year and impart a refresher course to 15,000 drivers per year. The Centre is expected to be completed within 18 months, the release said.
