East Zone wants Amitabh Chaudhary as BCCI president

bcciThe BCCI has turned into a divided house following the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya. Now the East Zone units are inclined to prop up their own candidate in the succession battle.

The East Zone units are likely to field joint secretary Amitabh Chaudhary of Jharkhand as their candidate for the post of BCCI president.

Sharad Pawar and Rajeev Shukla’s names are doing rounds but both might not find it easy to get a proposer and seconder from the Eastern Zone where there are six votes which consists of Bengal, Assam, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tripura and National Cricket Club.

According to sourced, the East Zone officials want that till 2017, the president should be someone from their own zone.
