Hemant Soren watches students celebrate Mother Teresa Award ceremony

IMG_0121Colourful programmes marked the day inside Ranchi based Oxford Public School which celebrated – the Annual Mother Teresa Meritorious Award Ceremony & Cultural Fest.

Jharkhand ex Chief Minister Hemant Soren graced the occasion as Chief Guest. After he lighted the inaugural lamp, musical extravaganza was kick-started.

“The performers left the audience spellbound with their enthralling performances”,said an eye witness.The show began with a welcome dance,a blend of ballet and Japanese fan dance.

Subsequently,the students of classes IV and V presented a dance-drama based on the theme of ‘Water Conservation’ which was appreciated by the audience.This was followed by the Michael Jackson dance with an Indian tadka.

In fact,the main attraction of the day was the ‘Mayur Dance’ depicting the unity among birds.

The cultural fiesta was followed by the prize distribution to those 382 meritorious students from Prep to Std. X, who had distinguished themselves in academics. The class-toppers received a gift cheque of Rs. 1001/- each along with certificates. The 90% and above scorers received a gift cheque of Rs. 501/- each with certificates from the Chief Guest.

The Principal, Jr. Wing,Rashmi Bakshi presented the annual report, highlighting the achievements of the school. The Director, S.B.P. Mehta endorsed the annual report and admired the spectacular performance of the students.

Soren addressed the gathering and congratulated the awardees and the performers and appreciated the performance of the students on the stage in a disciplined ambience.
