Meeting held to develop infrastructure in North Karnpura

Take appropriate initiative to bring all round develop in North Karnpura area.A decision toward this end was taken in a meeting presided by Jharkhand Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba today.

Gauba directed the concerned officers of Coal Indiaa Ltd’s subsidiary Central Coaldfields Ltd,National Thermal Power Corporation(NTPC) and the state government to coordinate with each other,prepare a comprehensive plan for development of infrastructure in coal mine belt of North Karnpura in Ramgarh Chatra and Hazaribagh districts.

“The coal companies especially the CCL should prepare a comprehensive plan for social and administrative infrastructure in the area.A special attempt should be made to develop road,drinking water,security and transport”,said the CS adding that the CCL and NTPC should prepare the development plan after getting in touch with concerned Departments of the state government.

Gauba also directed the police to prepare security plan for the area.

In the meeting attended among others by Principal Secretary(Finance)Amit Khare,Principal Secretary(Road)Rajbala Verma,Principal Secretary(Water Resources)Sukh Deo Singh ,Revenue Secretary KK Soan and representatives of the CCL and NTPC,it was decided that the construction of railway siding is in accordance with the provisions of the law and the comman man does not face any problem.

The meeting also held discussion on and acquisition and railway services.

As it is,in addition to the coal mines,coal based power plant project was originally proposed in 1999.It got delayed because Coal India Limited objected to the location of the power plant and wanted NTPC to relocate the power plant as it was coming up on site having 6 billion tonnes of coal underneath it.

Subsequently,Coal India Limited withdrew the coal linkage to the plant in 2008. The Government of India finally decided in 2013 February against the relocation and in 2013 July, the coal linkage for the plant was restored. The foundation stone was finally laid in August 2014,states Wikipedia.
