The Commission wrote to President Pratibha Patil to rescind the March 12, 2012, notification for election issued by her.

After the Jharkhand High Court disposed off the case recently, the EC took the decision to hold the Rajya Sabha poll on July 2.

In this state with 81(Elected)+1(Nominated) MLAs,BJP has 43 MLAs.In addition,if the the its ally All Jharkhand Students Union’s five MLAs are counted, the strength of the ruling NDA goes to 48.

This means that the victory of Akbar was almost certain.
