Mono Rail appropriate for Ranchi roads,claims IDFC

He held discussion on this issue as Infrastructure Development Finance Company(IDFC) Ltd had prepared a proposal to deal with the traffic problem in the State Capital.The CM discussed it with IDFC officials in presence of the state government’s senior officers inside his official residence in Ranchi today.
Das said that to end the problem of traffic jam is the responsibility of the state governmenmt.”To do so, a high end solution is required”,said Das.
Based on Ranchi’s population,its possible growth,traffic system,possible growth of number of vehicles,the traffic plan has to be formulated for the traffic system.A Technical Fesibility Report to introduce Mono Rail system in Ranchi was prepared for a selected number of roads-Project Building(Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd) -Main Road-Kutchehri Chowk-Piska More-Ratu Road-and Namkom.
Since these were perfect roads to run Mono Rail,the CM has directed the concerned officers to get Detail Project Report prepared and contact the World Bank,Asia Development Bank and other Financial institutions to gain fund for the same.The responsibility toward this end was provided to the state Urban Development Department.
During the discussion,Ashwani Parashar of the Delhi Integrated Multi-Model Transit System Ltd said that Ranchi is located on the hill.”Dig up this kind of land can create many problem.Also the form and width of the roads are not appropriate for the Metro Rail.In the narrow and the similar angle roads,Mono Rail can run properly as it is appropriate for similar roads”,said Parashar.
IDFC which has already prepared a report in view of the possible rise in population and number of vehiccles and availability of land in the next 30 years,put up a power point presentation.Incidentally,the Urban Development Department has authorised the IDFC to prepare Technical Report,DPR and selection of implementing agency to run the Mono Rail in Ranchi
The discussion was attended among others by Urban Development Minister CP Singh,Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba,Principal Secretary(Urban Development)A.K.Singh,CM’s Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar,CM’s Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal,Director,Urban Administration,SP Singh and IDFC representatives- RS Tiwari,Nishikant Gupta,Chandreshwar Kumar,Samir Sharma,Amar Kishore.
