“No proposal to reduce retirement age of central government employees”

jitendra-singh-465465The Union Government said today that there is no proposal to reduce retirement age to 58 years of age or 33 years of service for central government employees.

There are reportedly about 50 lakh central government employees.

“No such proposal is under consideration,” Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh told Lok Sabha in a written reply.

The government was asked to give details on whether it was proposing to reduce the retirement age of the central government employees to 58 years of age or 33 years of service.
