Ranchi resident Sudhakar Dixit gets President’s Award

President Pranab Mukerjee today awarded President’s award to 30 eminent scholars including Prof Sudhakar
Dixit, a renowned Indian Philosopher.

The ceremony was held in New Delhi at Rashtrapati Bhavan’s Darbar Hall. All the awardees have been given a cash award of Rs five lakhs and a citation.

Prof. Sudhakar Dixit, son of late pt Yadunandan Dixit, a renowned Jyotishacharya was born in Ghosi, DSC_6116Maunathbanjan in Uttar Pradesh and has been a professor of philosophy at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi and earlier at Poona University, Pune.

Born on March 25,1942, Prof Dixit is Presently residing at Ranchi, Jharkhand and is engaged in the spread of the philosophy of Vedant, Gita and Bhagawat.

Prof. Sudhakar Dixit is a renowned authority of Indian Philosophy and is specialized in Navya Nyay, the Indian Logic. He is ‘Guru-Bhai’ of the Puri Shankaracharya, Swami Nishchalanand Saraswati ji Maharaj and has been the disciple of Swami Karpatri ji Maharaj, considered to be the incarnation of Adi Shankracharya.

Prof. Sudhakar Dixit is highly decorated Indian Philosopher and Shankracharya of Jyotishpeeth has conferred upon him the title of ‘Mahamahopadhyay’ and in 2014 the then Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren also bestowed upon him the the title of ‘Mahanayak’. In the year 2014 Prof. Dixit was awarded with Rs. one lakh Karpatra ratna
award by Akhil Bharatiya Dharmasangh, the pious Peeth of late Swami Karpatri ji Maharaj.

His contribution to the field of Indian Philosophy and Sanskrit language has been immense as he has taught over 500 scholars including several Shankaracharyas’ and ‘Peethadishwars’. A renowned Prof. of Poona University and Sampoornanand Sanskrit University, Prof Dixit has been giving sermons on Bhagwat Gita and Vedanta at Theosophical Society, Varanasi and Malviya Mission, Banaras Hindu University.

Looking into his specialty and authority in his field and contribution in the field of higher education and to the society at large, the Jharkhand Government had recommended his name for the Padma Award in the year 2014.
