Two Jharkhand pilgrims killed in Mecca stampede

mecca6_3451439bTwo pilgrims of Jharkhand were among 14 Indians reportedly killed in an unfortunate stampede that took place during Haj pilgrimage in Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The names of the deceased from Jharkhand were Gulabi Begum from Ranchi and Muhammad Rustam from Godda district.

According to an official report, the stampede appears to have been caused by two waves of pilgrims meeting at an intersection.

Tragedy struck Mina on Day 3 of the five-day pilgrimage on Thursday, when 717 people were killed in a massive crush and 805 others injured.
