Bollywood star Salman Khan is on the roll.This time not on the screen,but in the water starved Marathwada region of Maharashtra.

This region is faced with acute water scarcity due to the drought.The monsoon had ditched the area last year and now the people were faced with untold miseries.Most water bodies had dried up there.

Against this backdrop,Salman Khan intervened with the result that his NGO-‘Being Human’ Foundation has rushed to provide 25,000 water tankers with a storage capacity of 2,000 liters each to the people in dry areas of Marathwada.

Residential District Collector of Beed falling in Marathwada B M Kamble has admitted that Being Human Foundation is providing 750 water tanks.”We are doing everything to ensure the water is equitably distributed among the affected lot”,said Kamble.

Earlier,his district office had received an e-mail from Being Human Foundation saying that it will provide 750 tankers to Beed,500 each to Osmanabad and Jalna and 250 each to Aurangabad and Nanded.Being Human Foundation had also adopted nearly 200 villages in the Aurangabad district for their uplift.
