Students are gearing up to participate in the grand finale of the national level Smart India Hackathon, 2017 which is in the process to become the world’s largest open Innovation Model.

As it is,Smart India Hackathon is the Narendra Modi government's initiative to create a platform for harvesting creativity and energy of youngsters who will showcase their innovations at the event.It is scheduled to be held across the country in 26 nodal centres on April 1 and 2.

Even in Ranchi.it is going to be held on these two dates.It is being looked after by Ranchi based PSU- MECON.The competition will be held for 36 hours without any brake.

The participants are slated to be assisted by their mentors to develop solutions for problems affecting rural and urban population. The issues have been identified by different departments of the Central Government.
MECON,Ranchi,General Manager Rana Chakravorty informed that 29 government insitutions are taking part in the event.

So far,598 problems were recorded.Of them,31 pertain to steel sector.Nearly,1200 teams were busy finding solutions to these problems.

Among these solution finding teams,54 teams Oriental University,Indore,are scheduled to find digital solutions to problems of the steel sector.

The winners will get cash prizes and a chance to be part of NASSCOM’s 10,000 Start-ups programme.
