For the first time, the BJP led state government has launched a move to check influx of illegal immigrants from the neighbouring country Bangladesh,it is learnt.

Records revealed that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants preferred to enter, work and stay in areas falling mainly under jurisdiction of these districts-Pakur,Jamtara,Sahebgunj and Jamshedpur.Normally,by using the Muslim priests and Masjid management committee members, many of them had secured certificates such as Aadhaar and voter identity cards.

If the BJP MP from Godda Nishi Kant Dubey is to be believed,’lakhs’ of Bangladeshis have found their homes in these four districts.Even the state administration has found that in this state where the government had managed to secure 90 percent of Aadhaar coverage, fresh Aadhaar cards were made in large numbers in these four districts bordering Bangladesh.

While these immigrants work as daily wage labour and maid servants, the state administration was learnt to have instructed officers of these districts to check entry of fresh illegal immigrants and after identifying them, demote them. However, since many of them were being supported by the minority community, the state administration’s job was cut out.

In any case, since Chief Minister Raghubar Das is on record having expressed his concern and cautioned local officials of ‘stringent action’,if they failed to contain the menace.Which is why perhaps, the state government has posted ‘efficient and duty bound’ officers such as Dilip Kumar Jha as DC of Pakur,Bhor Singh Yadav as DDC Jamtara, his wife Anjali Sahay in Santhal Pargana and Nancy Sahay as DDC Sahebgunj, said Hindustan Times by report-Government to deploy best officers to check influx of Bangladeshi immigrants -by B.Vijay Murty.

These officials are understood to be checking the recently made Aadhaar cards to identify illegal Bangladeshis. In terms of checking influx of Bangladeshi immigration, nothing was on records.

Reports indicate that a Bangladeshi today crossed the border and he was provided shelter in a mosque in Pakur where a local resident is planning to treat him as his relative to get him Aadhaar and Voter ID.

Though Das had said in a public meeting at Jharkhand Armed Police-1 premise in Ranchi on August 13 that his government’s resolve was not only to ‘check’ Bangladeshi immigration but also to ‘identify' , drive them ’and send them  back to Bangladesh, none of the the opposition party leaders have backed the CM.All of them appeared to be silent in view of their perceived ‘weakness’ to loose vote of the Muslim community.
