Jharkhand is set with two possibilities in the corridors of power. Both are connected with the ruling BJP led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das who has been in the eye of a storm in public.

One,Rajbala Verma, former Chief Secretary, can be appointed as Advisor to the CM with the Minister of State rank.If the CM Raghubar Das signs the file already moved by the appropriate Department,Verma can retain the official residence and many other benefits provided by the state government.

Two,in the Rajya Sabha polls slated to be held for two RS seats in the state on March 23,the ruling BJP can put up its spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra as its candidate.

Earlier,in its move to ensure free and fair RS polls in Jharkhand, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Principal General Secretary Pradeep Yadav, in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, has demanded removal of ADG (Special Branch) Anurag Gupta and Chief Minister’s then Political Adviser Ajay Kumar,.

Kumar is now his Press Adviser, who were allegedly involved in horse-trading during the last Rajya Sabha elections in 2016.

Notably, the EC had taken cognizance of the complaint filed by JVM president Babulal Marandi with CDs of purported phone calls of ADG Anurag Gupta and the then Press Advisor of Chief Minister Raghubar Das Ajay Kumar alleging interference in the exercise of electoral rights of some of the electors during Rajya Sabha elections. The Election Commission had, thereafter, asked the State Government to take action against the two.

However, the Das government has not made public its action against them.
