All vehicles-cars, trucks, mo- bikes-and iron linked offices, plants and factories were washed and decked up with flowers and garland. The owners and their drivers and staff offered prayers, a feature common among Hindus who worship 

The state government offices remained closed on the occasion of the Vishwakarma Jayanti. The worship of God Vishwakarma and Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated every year in Bhado(September) month in Jharkhand, Bihar, Orissa, Chhatisgarh, UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

 Like the past, Vishwakarma Jayanti was celebrated in Ranchi and adjoining areas of these states on Tuesday. All printing press and print media houses celebrated the event either by participating in or holding Vishwakarma puja inside their own complexes.     

God Vishwakarma is considered as the creator of the world. He, according to historical records, had "constructed the holy city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled, the Maya Sabha of the Pandavas. He is also considered as the creator of many fabulous weapons for the Gods.
