Sajal Chakraborty, a 1980-batch Jharkhand-cadre IAS officer,who was removed as the state chief secretary Raghubar Das, perhaps because he did not fit in into his scheme of things,was sent to jail today after the CBI court in Ranchi sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for five years with a fine of Rs 4 lakh or one more year of rigorous imprisonment in a multi-million rupee Animal Husbandry Department case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37 crore from the Chaibasa treasury.
