Met predicts a moderate thunderstorm activity and rain in places like Gumla, Simdega, Latehar, Lohardagaga and Ranchi. "We have issued no alerts for tomorrow (April 9) but thunderstorm activity and rain is expected again on April 10 and 11 in south, north-east and central Jharkhand," said an official.

Weathermen said a  cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 Km above mean sea level over Gangetic West Bengal and Bangladesh triggered the storm and rain. While Jamshedpur recorded around 8 mm of rain, the IMD observatory at Ranchi Meteorological Centre recorded around 4 mm of rain.
